Ep. 168: Cabernet Cocoons and Aged Pips

We recorded this episode the last day Mercury was in retrograde. The last day. Man, did we ever pay for that. We pushed through, however, and Ep. 168 made it out alive.

We get into a bit of wine archeology, take a walk, investigate a crime, and check out some cocoons. Just an average day on this wine podcast.

This week: the last of the summer news…

  • Prehistoric pips point to possible birthplace of grapes.
  • You can now walk from St. Helena to Calistoga.
  • An unrealized Sonoma real estate empire implodes (thanks, in part, to hippie activists).
  • Cocoons are for caterpillars, coats, and Cabernet.

We want your input! “Cocoon” glasses apparently aerate wine while retaining all those wonderful aromas. Are they really better than your average glass, or just a bunch of hype? Reach out via Instagram or Facebook to let us know.

The Four Top is looking for like-minded partners to help support our programming. For more information on how to get your message to the ears of wine pros and fans, click this link.

You can find each episode on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube, or via our website.

Happy listening!
